I am a songwriter/multi-instrumentalist but main instrument is guitar. Into sound reinforcement and recording, and I also love photography. Unfortunately(?), I tend to be a bit excessive with just about everything: 100% is never enough... Michigan's lovely economy has me working out-of-state for awhile (but am home for the holidays). I should be able to be home and coast for awhile this spring and get back to recording more original tunes. Will try to have some up on a music page in a few months. ..
bizarre people are cool... :) (and penguins rock, too!) but if I could, I would really like to see the inside of Jon Oliva's mind. I bet a conversation with him would be a life-altering experience! ...and since this is la-la land...
Have been into Christian music for about 11 years. Before that, I was big into power metal (Black Sabbath, early Ozzy, Savatage, Queensryche, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Anacrusis, Fates Warning...) Still like the loud stuff but I appreciate lyrical substance. Can listen to and play anything from classical to metal. (Where we've been still makes us a part of who we are.)
Put Johnny Depp in it and I'll watch it!!
Grew up all over the world in military family. Much European TV was considered risque by my folks so we didn't watch much. Still haven't gotten much in the habit of watching TV but I do like "Bones", "House" and "Journeyman" when I remember that they're on. Would rather do stuff than watch other people do stuff!
Currently reading "Walk On - The Spiritual Journey of U2". Really like stuff by C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton, Brennan Manning, Lee Stroble, etc. and the authors of the 66 most important Books.Great quote from Dr. J. Vernon McGee: "Your viewpoint of Jesus Christ and the cross will not change Him or that cross one whit – but it will change your eternal destiny. What you think of the cross tells who you are; it does not tell who He is or what the cross is. There have been too many men down through the centuries who have found in the cross the power of God for the evaluation of little man to make any impression whatsoever."
Guitar heroes are Randy Rhoads, Criss Oliva, Rik Emmett, Jake E Lee, Chris Caffery and John Petrucci.
As far as non-celebrities go, my heroes are Mary Lou Brown of Brown Evangelistic Ministries in Detroit and my friend, Holly Fujishige. Most importantly, Jesus Christ. He had no servants, yet they called Him Master; had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher; had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer; had no army, yet kings feared Him.
He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.
He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.
He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.
I am honored to serve such a Leader who loves us.
