New Muzik from JahQues

About Me

I wanna welcome you to my musical experiment. It's called the StraightJacket, because in life at some point or another we all need to put on a straightjacket of some sort to restrain us from snappin' at the constant bullshit that we gotta deal with at home, at work, in our neighborhoods and even on the stages and studios that we bless with our talents. Once we've regained our senses and are released from the confines of our straightjackets, (or drug, alcohol, jail, religion, etc.) we can return to the world and share the beautiful insites of what we gained during our confinement, OR, we can go back to snappin' at the bullshit that we deal with everyday. On this album, I chose to do both. And if you ain't feelin it, you probablly need a StraightJacket.
Samples from the StraightJacket:
ABOUT MY MUZIK
Breath Slow- This new joint is for all my people out here working hard, hustling or struggling, but still keeping it right in the eyes of the Most High. We don't harm no one, we don't take from no one, we ain't talking about mindless bullshit to impress no one. Instead, we're living right, in hopes to make this world beautiful, regardless of all the fake mofo's walking around being everything that makes the world ugly. For all my fam out there who shine even while the dust settles. Breath Slow. SHIT IS ALL RIGHT!
Black Roses- featuring Kayenne
This is my love song to all my beautiful Black people, we been through so much and continue to be abused (mostly by our own). This song is to remind us that Black is beautiful, like a rose.
Stealing My Soul-
is an old joint from my last project. It's on the StraightJacket album cause folks are feelin' it's flava so I thought it would be nice to bring it back onemoreagain.
Haitian Rum- featuring Jennifer Pittman
I wrote most of this song some years ago drunk off a bottle of Haitian Rum. So when I decided to take it into the studio, of course I had to sip on some Haitian Rum. Sung by my alter ego Jackdaniel & the Allstars, this song is about love lost and a lover scorned, yep it was me :(
If ya feeling the vibes so far please let me know. The rest of the album is just as diverse, cool, different and straight up just JahQues. None of the same ol' same ol' monotony that is coming out of today's stalemate Hip Hop industry. In order to resurrect Hip Hop and music as a whole we gotta expand our creative talents to levels that surpass what people have come to accept as Hip Hop and Black music. We gotta be the catalyst for real change in music, culture, and society. If we do this, we can change the World.
