Influence is a spoken word artist that was born in raised in Connecticut,He has been writing all of his life he say's ( I was a poet before it became the Def thing to do). Influence has been preforming for the last 10years, winning slam's and shutting down open mic all across the US. He resume has a long list of college's from Yale University to Whashington state. He has featured at the Mecca of poetry The Nuyorican poetry cafe and a host of other Venues. He has also featured and hosted a Number of award Ceremonies and shows, The one he is most proud of is the NAACP Scholastic Image Awards. He has been featured in some of the most heavily read artistic magazines and news papers in Ct including being given the award for the artist of the year by the Arts Council of Connecticut. He released his first Cd in May of 2007 call Verbal Tears. In the last year he has been working on a Film to be released in 2010 call Jammin wit the Angles, that will house orignal works by him. his latest body of work in CD form is Scheduled to be released in late 2009.After all of that,his heart and soul is grounded by the work he has done in the community. Influence is definitely a man that lives and walks in what he writes. He is the Co-Founder and Assitant Director of a Non-Profit called the Universal Arts Movement. That Helps give our youth coping and social skills to help them deal with life as it is for them,by way of the arts.(African dancing, Poetry, Visual Arts, and computer graphics) in the form of workshops and inspiring cultural shows..
