I love people in general. But I KNOW i would love some people more than others-- (just to keep it real!).... but that being said, i think its an honor to meet anyone who is interested in meeting me and my work.
Love it all. but my heart belongs to HIP HOP. I could list ALL the groups,MCs & DJs that I dig, but that would be ridiculous--- HIP HOP is what I dig the most!! I listen to everything...reggae, soul, jazz...any music from different cultures but especially love trditional Japanese, North African, Middle-Eastern & Indian/Pakistani.
Akira Kurosawa's RAN, DREAMS, The Godfather (Part I and Part II--- not Part III) FRIDAY, anything Charlie Brown(Peanuts), Rosemary's Baby, Goodfellas, the Omen, any good horror movie.
Project Runway, cooking shows, Snapped,Dave Chapelle , Top Chef, Intervention, Secret Lives of Women, So You THink You CAn Dance, and the spooky psychics on court TV... esp. when their eyes roll back and the whites of their eyes show when they are possessed by the dead people. wow---- thats entertainment.
Sun Tzu's THE ART OF WAR, Frantz Fanon's Black Skin/White Masks & Wretched of the Earth, Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God, Toni Morrison's Song of Solomon but anything by her basically, Michael Shaara's KILLER ANGELS (a great great Civil War novel--wow!)Thomas Lynch's The Undertaking, the DSM-IV, OurBodies/Ourselves.
1)MY FATHER--no doubt, hands down--- he is the greatest man/ person I have ever known. I struck gold with my dad. My BEST attributes come from him. 2) YURI KOCHIYAMA (Japanese American activist, now in her 80s)-- knowing that she is out there still fighting for justice, is always an inspiration for me to get up and take a goddam stand. 3)NINA SIMONE--- for keeping it RAW and REAL 4)MILES DAVIS & CHOPIN 5)COMMON FOLK-- people who just work hard, struggle... who love each other and have a resilient loving spirit. --- and ofcourse...my love love love OCHIBA!!!!
