CANDYA is formed from the ashes of the popular alternative/dark wave Italian rock band TREES. After the group officially broke up in 2005 cousins Francesco (guitar) and Nino Candia (bass) and Davide Fusco (drums) decided to form a new band which uses influences of 80’s new wave (The Cure, Cocteau Twins,Cranes) and from “shoegazing” - a term which was coined in Britain in the 90’s and included bands like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and Ride. Other modern influences include Elbow, Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Doves, Arab Strap, God is an Astronaut...At the moment they are busy writing and arranging new songs and are looking for a record label that will give space to their musical ideas and overall share their artistic vision.
