The AKA is on a serious membership drive. We are looking for students who are keen to improve their quality of life through training in Karate.
If that's YOU then we want you in OUR club!
Whether you are new to karate or have training experience, the following should be of interest. A small survey of experienced students training in other clubs revealed that we provided the very things they wanted most from a karate club-
- quality instructors with skills and knowledge
- low cost in this current economic climate
- a friendly atmosphere
- to be treated with respect
- to enjoy their karate training
- a curriculum with real depth
- quality senior students to train with
- to not have to start all over again
- proper training facilities
At the Australian Karate Academy, the instructors are high dan, very experienced Black Belts who hold teaching qualifications from University or TAFE and have been past International and National Champions in Traditional Karate competitions.
We have always charged a premium for our instruction but we are now slashing our prices to meet the demands of the market. We don't have contracts or debit your bank account.
Our classes are well run without resorting to harsh military type discipline and students enjoy the friendly atmosphere of a true learning environment. The training is effective and yet student safety is our number one priority.
Karate is explained clearly and the history, philosophy, and applications of karate techniques are taught from day one. It is not a 'monkey see, monkey do' method of instruction. You will be taught the older aspects of karate such as how to use your weight and momentum in punches, kicks and strikes, as well as joint locks, throws, take downs, use of pressure points and also kobudo (ancient weaponry).
Our senior students have been training for many years and we have some in their fifties and sixties who continue their training because it has meaning and purpose and remains a challenge for them. The learning does not stop at the first level of Black Belt.
We have a full time dojo with all the resources you need to train efficiently and effectively. New training mats, mirrors, mobile shilds, park your car right outside the dojo, andmale and female changing rooms, etc.
If you are currently training at another club and you feel you are going nowhere then why not give us a try? We teach traditional karate for self defense rather than modern sport but we easily adapt our training for modern competion with great results as well.
Limited places and we prefer you email us initially to discuss your needs and current situation. Our offer involves a trial period and a money back guarantee. For further details- email the Chief Instructor, Cheyne McMahon ([email protected]) and begin your journey to a better lifestyle.
