I am here for Networking

About Me

I have lived in Nashville, TN since 1997. I am involved in numerous aspects of the music industry. During the winter, I teach at the Mike Curb College for Entertainment and Music Industry at Belmont University. I generally spend summers in Northeast Ohio (Cleveland / Youngstown area), where I own a recording studio, produce and develop artists.
For those of you less familiar with me, I spent the early 80's in Miami, Florida, the late 80's and early 90's working in Southern California. As a producer, I have been responsible for shaping many young recording artists (and several well established ones), helping them to develop their sound, coach their songwriting or find their voice.
I am also a composer with network credits. Equally comfortable in all styles of commercial music...scores, MIDI or both...I teach Songwriting, Music Production, Commercial Music and Digital Audio at the university level. I am currently teaching recording technology classes at the Mike Curb College for Entertainment and Music Industry at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.
Outside of music, I am active as an entrepreneur.... I pioneered fashion Christian sportswear in 1993, with Power Gear...thus shaping this CBA market. Later that decade, I was dubbed by Wall Street Journal as a "stock market guru", under the moniker, "Rande Is. . .", successfully leading thousands of investor/traders in and out of the market, during one of the most turbulent periods in history. I have been contracted by large corporations and institutions as a Marketing Strategist, Marketing Consultant and Market Researcher. I am often called upon to create business concepts or products and have developed several new technologies using touchscreen kiosks.
Aside from business, I enjoy helping those less fortunate to get a leg up, including mentoring. I have many hobbies and activities and I have raised four children along with my wife, Lisa....or as I like to call her, LisaBella.
Back to music......In my spare time I enjoy working as a musician, performing Jazz / R&B / Funk / Latin on trumpet / flugelhorn....with some of the Cleveland area's finest musicians....such as Dr. David Thomas, Walter Barnes, Jr, Myron Gardner, Willie Ross, Tony Koussa, Jr., Cedric Napoleon, Dan Murphy, John Reese, Evelyn Wright, Keith McKelly, Tim Harker and Jim Witherspoon.
I am currently writing Neo-Soul and Retro-Soul songs for various artists. I have several writing partners, within both the Christian and secular markets.
Most recently, I am developing up and coming singer-songwriter, Ja'Neice in a romantic neo-soul/retro-soul genre. In addition, I have been establishing Cry Baby Records, as a New Media / Indie Record Company / Artist Development concept. Our first official release on the Mojotone label by jazz standard singer and saxophonist, Stan Miller (www.stanmillerjazzsax.com), came in 2005.
We are in the process of completing and releasing several exciting new projects, including veteran Hollywood film composer, and my mentor of 18 years, Paul Dunlap's first recording ever. Despite having composed 150 movie soundtracks and 300+ television shows, Paul has never before released his highly acclaimed music. We are also working to release talented composer and jazz pianist, Dan Murphy's, first commercial recording. Both projects use large scale orchestras of more than 20 pieces and are both currently being mixed and mastered.
