About Me
Born in Rio de Janeiro (10/01/66), early begining his musical studies. At 6, moved to Curitiba and entered Escola de Belas Artes do Paraná, where studied flute, violin, piano and choir singing. During this time, besides playing in night gigs, also took part in voice groups at First Baptist Chuch at Curitiba.
From 1988 to 1989, lived between Campinas and São Paulo where played and taught.
In 1989 moved to Goiânia, where worked as a pianist in gigs. As time passed by, began working at gigs from such singers as Cláudia Vieira, Marco Antonini, Nila Branco and João Marcelo, among others, performing as a pianist, keyboard player and musical director.
From 1994 on, started to dedicate mainly to his production, musical direction and arrangement for recordings chores. Produced and directed for The Not Yet Famous Blues Band, Banda Tennessee, Banda Scalla, Banda Evoeh, Valter Mustafé, Gilberto Correia, Cláudia Vieira, João Marcelo, Henrique, Dênio de Paula, Adalto Bento Leal, Itamar Correia, Nilton Rabello, Ivan Lins, Lindomar Castilho e Odair José, among others.
As well as the recording jobs, started creation and production of teather and cinema sountracks. In 2002 Marconi de Morais produced the soundtrack to the 1st popular representation of Christ's Passion produced by Secretaria Municipal de Cultura. In cinema, composed soundtracks to the full-lenght films by director Pedro Augusto, A Brazilian Saga (1998) and Lizarda's winds (2001). With musician Tom Oliveira, created the soundtrack of "Abduction", from Dustan Oeven and Moisés Cabral. In 2002, composed the soundtrack to "A Saga da Latinha", an educative short film by Michael Valim and "The Mentecapt", by Maceidy Lisita, awarded with the Pedra Goiana prize of best soundtrack at ABD Cine Goiás Competitive Showcase. Marconi joined TNYFBB in 2003, to be a musical producer and play keyboards. At 2005, the band played at After Party Celebration of 6th Latin Grammy.
Now, he is living in Los Angeles, showing his first solo CD - Pure Bossa, recorded as a Brazilian Bossa Nova Jazz Trio with the wonderful collaboration of Bororo (Upright Bass) and Fred Valle (Drums), playing classical songs such Garota de Ipanema, Desafinado, Wave, Corcovado and others.
