The Knights of Avalon is a full contact joust troupe that is a California non-profit orgainization.
We are a group that rescues draft horses from abuse and neglect, and rehabilitate them into working horses for full contact competition jousting.

The Knights of Avalon began in 1999, a group of competition jousters from all over California who wanted to save a couple of horses and have the best joust show on the circuit.
We started the group for two reasons, 1- To rescue neglected and abused draft horses and rehabilitate them, and 2- To travel North America jousting with them and entertaining the public with these horses.
To give these horses a second chance in life is what The Knights of Avalon is all about.
We started with a couple, but quickly, the public would tell us stories about drafts in different places that needed help. Soon after we started, our stable has grown quickly, and we decided to make our group a non-profit organization to further benefit our horses.
Each horse has a story to tell, and our horses could write books from where they have been and what they have seen.

"The boys" as they are often called, have been through alot, and they now have a wonderful life as a group. They are not kept in stalls, they are all in an open pasture area and are able to be together and run free and play all day long.
We currently have a stable of 7 draft horses of different breeds.
