FESTA EUROPEA della MUSICA

Nata in Francia nel 1982, la FESTA EUROPEA DELLA MUSICA è simbolicamente legata al Solstizio d'Estate e si svolge il 21 giugno nelle principali città europee. E' una festa popolare gratuita, aperta a tutti i generi musicali e alle diverse tradizioni europee.
Dal 1994, anno della sua prima edizione a ROMA, la Festa è l'evento di apertura dell'Estate Romana e regala alla gente centinaia di concerti completamente gratuiti di diversi generi musicali. Dai grossi nomi nazionali ed internazionali agli artisti e ai musicisti emergenti, la Festa è un punto di riferimento per il confronto culturale.
Dai cento concerti della prima edizione si è passati ai 200 concerti dell'ultima edizione, che ha visto esibirsi oltre 1000 artisti in alcuni dei luoghi più suggestivi della città, solitamente non destinati alla fruizione musicale e di rarissimo accesso.
The FESTA EUROPEA DELLA MUSICA, launched in 1982 in France ("Fête européenne de la Musique") and held every 21st June in many European cities, is symbolically connected with the summer solstice. The “Festa” is gratis and open to all musical genres and European traditions.
The FESTA EUROPEA DELLA MUSICA debuted in ROMA in 1994, and since then it has opened the “Estate Romana” *, offering people the opportunity to attend hundreds of concerts of different musical styles completely free. Ranging from great national and international names to emerging artists and musicians, the event is a point of reference for cultural exchange.
Whereas the first Roman edition counted about 100 concerts, in 2006 the FESTA EUROPEA DELLA MUSICA reached 200 concerts of more than 1000 artists. Many performances were held in some of the most picturesque places of the city, that aren't usually destined to music or are rarely open.
The FESTA EUROPEA DELLA MUSICA in Rome aims to promote the cultural richness of artists; to publicize, share and appreciate the great vitality and diversity of the musical world in Europe; to support a music that is permeated with the life experiences of different nations.
