About Me

hopeless romantic.....This profile was edited with Edit Your MySpace..

My Interests

writing, singing, dancing, travelling, analyzing, socializing, kissing, big earrings, anything else that ends in "ing", rock shows, yoga, my blue/rusty bike, running in the rain, comfortable stilettos, challenges, and the challenge of finding comfortable stilettos

I'd like to meet:

My match. Someone who doesn't think waking up at 6AM for the gym is crazy. The antithesis of a cliche. And of course, a skateboarding chef.

Music:

Modest Mouse, Elliott Smith, Air, Doves, Wilco, Ugly Casanova, What Made Milwaukee Famous, The Walkmen, Bloc Party, Bright Eyes, Fiona Apple, BB King, Ambulance LTD, The Flaming Lips, Longwave, Grandaddy, Joy Division, Belle and Sebastian, Pixies, Interpol, Lucero, Madonna, The Faint, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Detachment Kit, Nirvana, Pete Yorn, Portishead, Billie Holiday, We Ragazzi, Stars, The Secret Machines, Blonde Redhead, New Order, Al Green, The Postal Service, The Kills, Ladytron, Prince, Sleater-Kinney, Radiohead, The Frames, The Cure, Nick Drake, Le Tigre, Darker My Love, Iron and Wine, Dandy Warhols, Mazzy Star, Mogwai, Stephen Malkmus, Franz Ferdinand, Yo La Tengo, Amy Winehouse, Les Savy Fav, Mittens, Ezra Reich, Vampire Weekend, French Kicks, The Bloodthirsty Lovers, Beck, Victory at Sea, The White Stripes, The Shins, Feist, Lettie, Jeff Buckley, BRMC, Arcade Fire, MGMT

Movies:

Cradle Will Rock, The Player, The Rules of Attraction, Niagra Niagra, Waiting for Guffman, Mr. Holland's Opus (I cry everytime), Punch Drunk Love, 13 Conversations About 1 Thing, My Cousin Vinny, 21 Grams, Thumbsucker, Garden State, Ira and Abby, Napoleon Dynamite, Sidewalks of New York, Love in the Time of Money, Pillow Talk, An Unmarried Woman, Little Miss Sunshine

Television:

Like many false-claimers who try to be cool, I hate TV. No, really, I do. I think it is badly written beyond belief and completely shows the lacking ingenuity and creativity bursting forth from the City of Angels. I went four years without having one (well, for the most part...my old roommate left one in our apartment and we did manage to haphazardly extend the antenna to get NBC and PBS...Katie Couric and "Sesame Street"...all ya really need), and although I felt a little behind in pop un-culture, I definitely don't feel I missed much. When I moved to NYC, my roommates had (gasp!) digital cable, a phenomenon more frightening than the remote itself, and I thought, for sure, if I were ever going to find something worth watching, it would be during this 150-channel five month period of my life. Still...nothing. I will admit, however, during my digidays on E. 4th St., I managed to find a couple guilty pleasures. HBO, of course, with "Sex and the City" and "Sopranos;" I do, however, think "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is, by far, the most irritating show since "Seinfeld" so mercifully ended. I know I've probably just offended you. And my roommate, with her own personal addiction to "Law and Order" turned me on to that show as well...mostly because it was ALWAYS on whenever I entered the door. Oh, and with the whole Showtime On Demand excitement, I have discovered the well-written shows "Dead Like Me" and "Huff." Other than that, I'm a huge fan of "Weather on the 1s." Hey, a girls gotta know how to dress for the day.

Game Face.

It's days like today that I don't mind the snow on the ground. The days that force me to take the crosstown bus and leave my bike behind, perched against the island dividing the kitchen from the livi...

Things Men Should Know.

It's not that I think men are complete morons, but I have found recently that their general assumptions prove ignorance.  There are a few things I believe should be set straight.1.  Not all ...

Sprite Does Not a Sparkling Water Make

The fact that my family freely refers to me as a snob does not offend me.  By Memphis standards, I'm sure that is how I must appear.  By New York standards, however, I'm just another ru...

My life is a metaphor.

A couple weeks ago, I got locked out of my friend Todd's apartment. I had just gone grocery shopping and had managed to get half the bags inside but let the door slam behind me as I headed to my car ...

Left Coast?

A little over a year ago, I made a pseudo goal to head to LA for pilot season 2006. I put that goal so far on a back burner in Cleveland or Boise, Idaho or something, that I had completely forgotten a...

I had no idea that people really pay attention to blogs until a friend of mine mentioned something I had written in a previous personal journalistic undertaking. Ok, that's slight elevated bullshit. ...
