There is a gap between what we expect in this life and what we get; I feel humour confronts that gap between the idea and reality. Humour is a kind of relief, escape, surplus energy and I am very intrigued.
I’m an aspiring comedy writer. I am very passionate and enthusiastic about writing comedy and have studied the different types of comedy writing, different techniques and completed a professional screenwriter’s course.
There seems to be such a high proportion of aspiring comedy writers in relation to the small number of jobs available, and yet I’m wholeheartedly keen to add to the scene with my fresh and brilliant ideas, strong visual sense and writing talent. The last couple of years have been promising and have seen much more of a coming together of comic generations and we intend to be a part of it, making our own comedy aspirations a reality.
