I listen to Neo-Soul, Jazz, RnB, Soca, Old Skool, Reggae, Conscious Rap, a diverse selection really. I like artists with authentic talent, individuality and style.
All the films Denzel Washington, Robert DeNiro, Sanaa Lathan, Kerry Washington, Eddie Murphy, Leonardo Dicaprio star in and plenty more films that have been very well-written or directed.
I read extensively. I appreciate previous writers because they give us a real insight into past cultures, social behaviour and emotions, but modern writers such as C.Achebe, C.N.Adichie, T.Morrison, Z.N.Hurston, N.Giovanni, M.Angelou, Z.Smith, T.C.Bambara and A.Walker are also great influences.
