About Me

Layout Provided By CodeMyLayout.com -Jeff C is a true music lover. Jeff believes that a dj has a duty to provide the best genre of music they possible can to an audience, whilst demonstrating their passion for that genre` of music. Jeff ‘s dj genre of music ranges from Eclectic Ol’ Skool, Deep, Soulful House, Funky House, Hip Hop, Broken Beats, RnB, O’l Skool n Nu Skool Soul and Disco.Jeff started of with djing at Christmas Parties for work, and the odd family function. Having an ever increasing catalogue of music, the next stage was to buy a set of cheapo decks and mixer to teach himself how to dj until he could afford a set of Technics and a decent mixer. Putting together his first mixed tape of rare grooves, boogie and funk, it was passed to a promoter. This led to his first set as a dj at Come the Revolution, (Chelsea) an original Sunday get together of groovers and funky people in the summer of 1995. Appreciating his style, this led to a residency at Zebra Bar, Turnmills for a House set, Ormands alongside the likes of Ben n Pete (BBE), amongst a few. Later that year Jeff dj’d alongside the likes of Aitch B (Soul II Soul) at WKD, Matt White and Fat Freddy M (Kiss FM) in 1997 at Zebra Bar, Enter the Dragon and Fridge Bar. He took his eclectic style to the Fridge Bar, when booked by the venue to change the face of the vibe and music policy; thereafter, leading the way for Touch Magazine to continue. It lead to a weekly Tuesday night called Unda – Vybe at the bar in ’98.Jeff has since gone on to dj at 10 Room to the likes of P Diddy, Kelis, Goldie, Beverley Knight to name a few where he was resident from 1999 to 2001. Beat Bar (now Mau Mau) Café De Paris resident on the legendary Wednesday house music night Elite, The Cross, Home, Sway, The Shhh Rooms, Kensington Roof Gardens, Denim Bar, Jazz Café, The Arches to the likes of Bell Biv Devoe, Bug Bar (now Babalou), Browns, Colloseum, Chunnel Club (now Studio 33), Leisure Lounge , Mayfair Club (now Nobu), Met Bar, Papa Gaoe (now Milk & Honey), Rex, Propaganda, Sand Bar, Tokyo Joes (now Pangaea) to the likes of Stevie Wonder, Boy Goerge and the cast of Hollyoaks, Hanover Grand, Club Gaia (now Paragon Lounge), Atlantic Bar (now Astor) including the after party for Ronan Keating, Studio 57 (now Mint), The Edge, Attica (now 24), Playrooms, Sin (formerly Rouge) to name a few. My Interests

Music:

Band Members:
Influences: Enriched by music from an early age by listening to his dad’s records and different sounds projected to challenge his thoughts by artist and producers such as Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Artists on Blue Note, Dizzy G, Miles Davis, Mad Professor, Scientist, Bob Marley and Electric Light Orchestra, John Foxx, Gary Newman, Steely Dan etc. Getting older took him to the sounds of Roy Ayres, whom Jeff thinks is a genius and timeless, James Brown (the Godfather of Soul, Funk and Hip Hop) because without his music these musical genres would not be; Fela Kuti, P Funk (Parliament, Funkadelic), Donald Byrd, Johnny Hammond, Chaka Khan, the world of Hip Hop from the early ages of the originals to Gangstarr, Tribe, Common, J Dilla, Slum V, KRS 1 etc, to the Boogie era of Leroy Burgess, Paul Simpson, Aura, Slave, Lilo Thomas, Paul Lawrence, Darryl Payne etc...... Jeff believes that Boogie gave birth to the early Garage years of Larry Levan, Boyd Jarvis, Private Possession, Paul Simpson etc, maturing to the sounds of the early Jack era with the likes of Chip E, to Farley ‘Jackmaster’ Funk, Liz Torres, to Marshall Jefferson, Arthur Baker to Masters at Work, DJ Sneak, Osunlade and finally the Uk Future music Scene. This developed his love for music of all genres from Jazz, Disco, Funk, Boogie, Dub to Deep, Underground and Soulful House to Soulful Rock, Hip-Hop, Eclectic Pop to Ol’ n Nu’ Skool Soul, Broken Soul, Broken and Afro Beats, Acid Jazz, Future Jazz, Latin Grooves and Samba. This represent his djing style as eliments are displayed in whatever of music he plays.
