Influences: Enriched by music from an early age by listening to his dad’s records and different sounds projected to challenge his thoughts by artist and producers such as Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Artists on Blue Note, Dizzy G, Miles Davis, Mad Professor, Scientist, Bob Marley and Electric Light Orchestra, John Foxx, Gary Newman, Steely Dan etc. Getting older took him to the sounds of Roy Ayres, whom Jeff thinks is a genius and timeless, James Brown (the Godfather of Soul, Funk and Hip Hop) because without his music these musical genres would not be; Fela Kuti, P Funk (Parliament, Funkadelic), Donald Byrd, Johnny Hammond, Chaka Khan, the world of Hip Hop from the early ages of the originals to Gangstarr, Tribe, Common, J Dilla, Slum V, KRS 1 etc, to the Boogie era of Leroy Burgess, Paul Simpson, Aura, Slave, Lilo Thomas, Paul Lawrence, Darryl Payne etc......
Jeff believes that Boogie gave birth to the early Garage years of Larry Levan, Boyd Jarvis, Private Possession, Paul Simpson etc, maturing to the sounds of the early Jack era with the likes of Chip E, to Farley ‘Jackmaster’ Funk, Liz Torres, to Marshall Jefferson, Arthur Baker to Masters at Work, DJ Sneak, Osunlade and finally the Uk Future music Scene.
This developed his love for music of all genres from Jazz, Disco, Funk, Boogie, Dub to Deep, Underground and Soulful House to Soulful Rock, Hip-Hop, Eclectic Pop to Ol’ n Nu’ Skool Soul, Broken Soul, Broken and Afro Beats, Acid Jazz, Future Jazz, Latin Grooves and Samba. This represent his djing style as eliments are displayed in whatever of music he plays.
