Gideon van Buitenen was born on January 15th 1981 in Dordrecht, The Netherlands. At the age of 7, he took Music classes at the 'Toonkunst' school of music. Two years later, he decided that his main instrument was going to be the violin.
Soon, stimulated by a good friend with whom he made tape recordings in an attic-room, Gideon encountered the art of improvisation. It opened the door to an apparently present talent; experiencing the deeper dimensions of music.

Through the school of music, Gideon made his way to the 'Drechtsteden' youth-orchestra. There he met the Russian conductor, Alexander Vakoulsky , who has from that time on always been a great example to him in expressing deepest emotions in whatever music-style.
The most important thing in all Gideon's musical activities is the attempt to express Gods love and goodness. With all heart's passion, because of the freedom we have received when Jesus Christ died on a cross in our place, at Golgotha. Everything one really needs to do in his life, is to learn and dare to let go of his own insights and cling to what his Maker offers him: Life as it ought to be, in His presence.
At the moment, Gideon is -beside his job in the IT business- affiliated as a violinist to the 'Country Trail Band' -which stands out as the "Dutch premier Christian country band- and the pop/folk band 'Jester of the King' . That way he contributes to several CD/DVD-productions and many performances.
