My surname "Smilzo" (means thin) was given me by a friend when I was 20... I was thin and tall... like now... ;)
I have practiced many sports (starting at the age of 8), mainly athletic and bike, starting to play guitar at the age of 17.
I started a hard study of the guitar while I was attending the University. After the degree... the work, the woman, the human stupidity... I left the guitar in a corner, just grabbing it up sometimes, when I feel the need to relax.
I became a "chitarraio della domenica" (sunday guitarrist) ;)
To celebrate my bìrthday in 2000, I called some friends, rent a little hall, and we party all night long, jamming and drunkin'...
This was my birth as "jammer". ;)
Meanwhile, I joined a www comunity... Accordo.it :)
During 2004 a foul posted a thread in Accordo where he asked guitarist to joing him in his house for a week end, to jam, drink & talk about anythink! GRAPPA GUITAR CAMP was born!
I can't join them the 1 time, but I succeeded reaching them for the second edition. I was amazed by the friendship, the coolness, the high level of skill most of them demostrate... there is a term that identify this group of axeman: GRAPPEROS.
In the (second?) meanwhile ;) I joined the Donato Begotti forum... I started to focus more on technics, than guitar setup (I was having a GAS during my sunday guitarist period... well... even now... ;))
I have to tnx to many people for what I am now, and for how I play now. To many, really...
But, guess what, I consider it as a starting point... :D..
