PNR scrive †Salve a tutti, Sono NewYorkese di origini italiane, sono in Italia da quasi sei anni e suono la chitarra da quasi vent’anni. Ho avuto il piacere di conoscere parecchi Accordiani tramite SHG, annunci vari e passaparola. Si tratta di buoni chitarristi ma soprattutto di buona gente. Nella speranza di poter sviluppare piu’ legami musicali profondi con piu’ chitarristi italiani vorrei proporre un’idea un po’ diverso, ma piu’ ci penso piu’ vorrei farlo: Vorrei invitare tra 5 e 7 accordiani a casa mia per un weekend di “Guitar Camp†per fare un vero e proprio scambio musicale e culturale. Ho una casa immersa nel tranquillo verde di Monte Grappa (provincia di Vicenza, 240 km da Milano) dove si puo’ suonare senza preoccuparsi dei vicini. Ho un piano dedicato alla musica che sarebbe adatto per questo incontro/mini-vacanza.
Why Grapperos?
Mr. Frank Varano, an american guitar player who moved to Italy, joined a online comunity under PNR nickname. He asked himself: "Why the hell here in Italy we haven't a guitar camp yet?". So he posted an article that sound like this: I am a guitar player. Feel free people to join me in my house in Bassano del Grappa, where we can play, talk, drink for a week-end!
This is the real beginning.
The roots of grapperos is GRAPPA, that is 1) a mountain located in Italy where the first camp had place 2) the name of a high alcoholic drink... tipical of the country. The "latinization" of the terms lead to a nice name... so, the men who joined Frank redefines themselves as "Grapperos!".
The idea keeps place in the heart of the comunity, and the guitar camp started to grow...
Now the week end of a typical grappa guitar camp (GGC) includes workshops, live events, many fine liutery artist and guitar/fx/amp producers, all glued by friendness, love for the music and... above all... GRAPPA!!! ;)
