ECOSLO History
The Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo County (ECOSLO) is a non-profit membership supported organization founded in 1971 to lead, support, and encourage others' efforts to create a sustainable community in San Luis Obispo County.
Beginning with a volunteer run, community supported recycling center, ECOSLO soon broadened its community services to provide environmental information, a clearinghouse, and central hub for other environmental-oriented organizations in the County, and to provide referral, support and networking services for local government, representatives, students, organizations, citizens and others that are interested in creating a better community.
ECOSLO strives to further develop its mission, working with others to ensure the protection and preservation of our local resources for future generations.
To contact us, feel free to stop by our downtown office located at 1204 Nipomo Street in San Luis Obispo (diagonal from Foster's Freeze). For more information, visit our website www.ecoslo.org, call (805)544-1777 or email
