I publish HopeDance Magazine and screen films, mostly documentaries that are either disturbing or uplifting. The tag line for HopeDance is Radical Solutions Inspiring Hope. Often times those individual words are not that potent. But together they form an interesting mantra of empowerment.
What I wish to do with the film screenings is rather than you sit there behind your computer screen and watch by yourself all these interesting, radical, hilarious, outrageous films, I create a space, either inside or outdoors, to watch films together and talk about the films afterwards. So easy. What a remarkable idea... getting people together to focus on an issue or story and TALK about it afterwards.. to meet other people rather than online, real faces with expressions and zits and body odors and auras and real feelings so we can not only understand this world but to DO something about it.
