The Socialist

I am a Socialist; some may call me a Communist, Pinko, Leftist, Red Star, Marxist, Populist, Commy bastard etc. But the truth is i have a vision for what i would like our world to be, so i am nothing more than a dreamer. I see a world of equality where no one man or woman is seen as greater than another based only on their material possessions or wealth. I see a world where peace reigns and the thought of war and violence are but a memory. This would be a society where all contribute to the best of their ability and all are given an equal chance to live a safe, joyous, content life. Perhaps to some this sounds like somewhat of a Utopian vision but i see it as being very possible. But in order to work towards these improvements we must start changing the current system that we all live in today.That system i speak of is Capitalism. The economic evil of the world. The current condition that defines our class system and our overwhelming greed for more money. It is not my belief that we live in the capitalistic society that Adam Smith envisioned, the current state is one of complete excess and abuse. A system where one person can have billions of dollars in their bank account while thousands of others starve. Where large corporations spend millions and millions of dollars making and marketing useless product while millions of people live without clean water or a proper roof over their heads. This doesn't have to be this way. There are enough resources in this world for each and every human to live a decent life. The unfortunate condition that we live in gives all the power and capital to a very small percentage of people, they then decide who gets what and at what cost. The cost is high, and as more people starve, die of disease, and suffer the cost keeps getting higher. How much longer can we let this happen? We must all do our part as a member of society to help one another.I see Socialism as the economic platform and political ideology that can enable us to start making progress. It is not the answer to all of the worlds problems but it is an answer to many of them. I am not a political person as the level of corruption and deception can be sickening, i align myself to no specific party; but if a party does follow the Socialist philosophy i offer it my support. The cause is equality and moderation, the effect is a better world. Let us embark on the Socialist Revolution!!
