Brandi and the Badcats

About Me

Brandi & the Badcats started out in Melbourne as a fun thing to do. We, that is Reno and me (Brandi), wanted to get back to our roots. Pretty soon our Badcats got a reputation for doing Rock'n'Roll with all the energy and passion of the early days and the rock'n' rollers dubbed us rockabilly, even though I started out with my 'P' bass, and gave us a hard time. Not to be put off and not to compromise our sound we moved north to Brisvegas where rockabilly rules and I took up double bass 'cause I just loved it!! We've been in Brisbane Town for only 18 months (December 2007) and our gig guide is looking really healthy-thanks to all our wonderful devoted fans-we love you all- you rock!..................................... But there's more................................... I have an alter ego in that everywhere we played in Melbourne while I used the Fender people wanted me to do Suzi Quatro stuff and since I love that too I was happy to oblige. Since coming to Brisbane we have succeeded in putting together our "Wild One a Tribute to Suzi" show that is playing to packed houses wherever it goes. The Show Rocks! Check it out on youtube under Suzi Quatro Tribute show. Or go to www.myspace.com/wildonetributetosuzi Or just click one my first friend...................................................... ........... THE BADCATS has changed a lot since coming to Brisbane....we have been here now 2008 for nearly THREE YEARS....We have had some member changes and have written a heap of songs....The Band is now heaps rockier and gettin' it off with audiences from as far north as Bundaberg and as far south as Port Maquarie....Brandi really pounds the double bass ...with the same energy and passion that she brings to her electric playing.....THE BADCATS ROCK!

Band Members: BRANDI---LEAD VOCALS and DOUBLE BASS; RENO---GUITAR and VOCALS STEVE---DRUMS AND VOCALS...................................................... .........PAST BADCATS/ WILDONES We've worked with a few great players over the years but some deserve a special mention.... ................................... HAROLD FRITH Drummer extroardinaire and veterin of the glorious fifties elevated us Badcats in the early days, and really helped us get it all together.................................................... ......................................... STEVE WILLIAMS on Sax and Blues harp played a few gigs with us and even put the beautiful sax lines down on our C.D. Even though he normally worked with John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John among others and T.V. in Melbourne, he was still happy to come out with us...I'll never forget his sax lines and his harp sent me to heaven.....We have never replaced him because we were too spoilt and CAN never replace him... ....................................................... KEYBOARD PLAYERS we've had the priviledge of working with some great players, but I loved listening to ANDREW KING ..s in the Melbourne days...we hope one day to work with him again. And more recently we have to thank PAUL MIDDLEBROOKE for working with us for a whole year in The Wild One.....We really appreciate all the time and effort Paul and fully understand why you needed to leave. ............................................................ ... And STEVE WISBY on DRUMS with us for a whole year as well in both The Badcats and The Wild One---We are in the process of replacing you now and it is proving very difficult....a hard act to folllow.... ............................................. ............................................................ ...................................................
