Loki Kaos Rickus

the story of a cabaret performer

About Me

At the tender age of twenty, Loki (KAOS) Rickus is already a veteran of the musical stage. Starting in the chorus of Camelot at fourteen and soon progressing to principal roles in Les Miserables and Paris: The Musical, Loki’s dedication to stealing the spotlight was VERY clear... Loki’s background in gymnastics, dance, drama, circus and musical provided a solid base for the inevitable transition to cabaret work. Once the transition was complete Loki went on to tour successfully in Australia and overseas. Returning home to Australia in 2005, Loki was kept busy with a variety of shows, club spots and corporate events in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth, while finding the time to squeeze in two seasons of performing and training at the Australian Circus Festival (Golconda Tasmania). His new show “Eight Hundred Shades of Beige: The Soundtrack of my Life” is tipped to be the hottest new act during the Adelaide Feast Festival. Segments from the show were recently performed in Sydney’s 34B with Sugartime Burlesque; with both acts (and Loki’s ruby slippers) receiving scathingly hot and comic reviews. After a full season for Adelaides Feast Festival Loki is moving into two new shows for next years Adelaide Fringe, One with the Broadway Babies called Broadway Babies in Caos. And Centerlink the Musical. Both to be performed during the festival early next year, stay tuned for more updates and follow the link to the Broadway Babies myspace site in my friends list.

Combining classic show tunes with a diva-esque power ballads Eight Hundred Shades of Beige is a glittering pastiche of cabaret and satire that strips bare the beige veneer of the eastern suburbs life. Revealing the hilarity of being the black sheep in a beige family. Loki Kaos Rickus lays out a scrumptious buffet of cabaret, comedy and satire guaranteed to entertain and delight. Join Loki down his beige brick road as he relates the hilarious stages of his metamorphous from private school boy to fully-fledged carnie. With help from his good friends Dorothy and Dusty, follow Loki as he explores the questions: “Is there really no place like home?” and more importantly - “Do these ruby slippers come in my size?”
