" -----------------------------------------------------------P ESHAY (CUBIK RECORDINGS,METALHEADZ UK)This is Peshay,i would like to explain how i first met Andreas (Soulsource).The first time i met him was at a dj gig that he booked me for,if i remember correctly,it was in Bern. I remember first meeting him and thinking to myself,what a friendly guy!! I travel all over the world and have done for the last 15 years and believe me,the promotors and people that you meet can be a little strange!! Not all people are friendly is one thing,but some of them are also unprofessional as well,and this combination can be hard work,and that can only get worse when you discover that they cant speak the same language as you,or not well anyway!! Of course it was great to see how friendly and professional he was,and the fact that he spoke English well was also good. He made me feel very comfortable during my stay and made sure that i wanted or needed nothing! He came to the hotel to pick me up to go to the party and we arrived nice and early to check out the club and also to do a soundcheck. Everything was fine, so we had a few drinks together and chatted,it was soon time for Soulsource to play,so i just settled back and waited to listen to his set.I was very impressed at how he began his set,he started quite funky,a nice start as everybody was warming up in the club and it was only a matter of time before everybody was ready to start really going for it!! He started to pick up the pace a little bit by teasing the crowd with some quick clever mixes only playing a little bit of the next track and then taking it out of the mix before the crowd knew what was going on! By this time the crowd were ready for the big one and then from nowhere the tracks and long mixing were there for everyone to hear! By now the crowd was cheering and the party was in full flow,from then on i was impressed at how Soulsource played,taking the crowd up and then down and then back up again wih very good effect! He played a 2 hour set and the time went so quickly that i didnt realise soon that it was my time to play!! He played a very good set and there was so much diversity in the music that he played that nobody could complain,he featured alot of high profile labels with brand new music as well as playing some good dub plates of tracks that even i didnt know!!I played my set and had a really good night,Soulsource and myself finished off the party by joining forces and playing back to back for the last hour,we finished off the night to people screaming one more,even with all the lights on and the music off!! The club was really packed and from what i could see,everyone had had a great night,job done! Since then i have kept in regular contact with Soulsource and have sent him alot of my new tracks for him to play,in my opinion,Soulsource is the number 1 drum and bass dj in Switzerland,not only is he a really good dj,he is super friendly and professional in his work and amongst one of the nicest people that i have worked with!In the future i have made plans with Soulsource for me to go to Switzerland and do some production work with him in his studio,i know that he has a huge record collection and am looking forward very much to sitting down with him and listening to some of his records,old and new,as well as working together with him on some brand new music,be it drum and bass,downbeat,hip hop or even jazz,who knows!! All i know is that its going to be a fun rewarding journey,watch this space!!!!PESHAY......................................
