About Me
Scott began spinning rap records as a 14 years young teenager growing up in Berne, performing live at area dances, block parties, and on the local disco circuit. That time the rap music swapped to Europe and Scott La Rock got the turntablism virus from the real innovators of DJing, such as Grandwizzard Theodore, Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Jazzy Jay, Jazzy Jeff and Cash Money. Over time, Scott improved a series of ultimate techniques as scratching, cutting, spinning and phasing. Scott la Rock became aware that old school hip hop would often sample disco, soul, and funk tracks so he began mixing it to create a new form of musical collage.
He has been supporting DJ for famous acts like Public Enemy, Hijack, Incognito, James Taylor Quartet, The Brand New Heavies, Mad in Paris, Malka Family to name a few. Scott plays his selection of rare and unknown vinyl pearls on a radio broadcast. After 22 years experience behind the decks he’s still rockin the turntables and keep the crowd movin, almost in every club in Switzerland but also in foreign European countries. Music has no boundaries!
