It was in 1979 on a trip to the Riviera Romagnola in Italy where Funky T first heard the track "The Breaks" by Kurtis Blow and from this moment he fall in love with the music, specially with the disco funk grooves.At the age of 18 he was ready for any kind of party. He got in contact with local dj’s in several clubs and had the chance to support them with his funky grooves at the best clubs in town. Funky T made a name for himself playing at some of the legendary clubs at this time. He spent most of his time back then in local music stores to get all the latest records.Unfortunately some of the clubs had to close down, so Funky T had to take a break.After a few years, he joined DJ Doc T at his legendary nights at the Miles Club at the Stufenbau in Berne and Funky T played his incredible mix as a support of Jocelyn Brown, The Temptation, Maceo Parker, The Brand New Heavies, Loose Ends, Incognito just to name a few. He was back in the scene!Funky T also began to organize his own successful parties around Berne and took some journeys to the states and the UK to extend his collection of 12inches.Now, Funky T plays his unique collection of rare disco funky grooves at the SOULPLAY parties.
