My creator blessed me with alot of natural Musical talent as I was able to play alot with little effort it seemed; I knew I wanted to be a pro musican by age 8 as I would spend hour after hour singing along with the 45rpms Dad got me from the bar juke box"s discards he used to hang in. I joined Grade school band play"in Coronet-(trumpet) & made Jr. high a year early, High scool a year early; Sat in first chair awhile, then started switching to Baritone, Tuba, & Percussion, Started Guitar at 14 & had first Pro gig at Turner Falls Park in 64-65 (glory days)Moved to Dallas-Ftw. in 68 working in music stores and giging at night. Joined Capital Rec. artists, The Side of the Road Gang in 74 play"in Bass & played in countless venues with stars such as Willie & Waylon, David Allan Coe, Rusty Wier, etc. till we got tired of gett"in screwed by our manager; Did House Gigs mostly after that, we did go to Saudi Arabia in 79, that was cool!! In 1990 My late wife & Soulmate, Char Howard, handled my business & booked The Billy Joe Howard Band as opening act for The Doobie Bros, Fleetwood Mac, The Fab. Thunderbirds, Dave Mason, Hank Jr. & countless other gigs.(I miss her dearly, in my heart & business;I moved back to Okla. in 01 to take care of my dear Mother, & have played with The Nightshades & My One Man Band in Southern Okla.
