Travis Wackerly is a 24 year old fiddle, mandolin, guitar player and singer-songwriter from Moore, Oklahoma, you might recognize him as being the fiddle/mandolin player for artists like Dale Clayton (first thing tomorrow, cry on the radio) and Jason Savory who took the Texas Music Chart by storm with his PCL single of the year "Wife for a Night", you'll still see Travis playing with both these great musicians throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and Nashville Tennessee.
The new album "Sinner Like Me" will be released at the end of May 09. The album includes the title track song that was co-written with producer/musicians Phil Madeira (Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, Buddy Miller), it includes 8 other songs, in which one might suprise you (R+B cover bluegrass rock style?? naw). The album will soon be available on iTunes, Rhasody, CD Baby and a few local stores in the OKC/Norman area.
In the past few years Travis got the oppertunity to fly out to Los Angeles and Nashville to meet with several interested producers to help with his upcoming album. These Producers have credits Producing, or Engineering for artist like Christina Aguilera, Guns and Roses, Staind, Michael Jackson, No Doubt, Weezer, Taylor Hicks and more.Travis made a demo in his room one day using only a 8 track recorder, sent it out to a couple places and that is how he got the oppertunity to fly to L.A and Nashville, these producers didn't hear your everyday song, they heard something unique, different and something that involved alot of talent, each producer wanted his name on this project, and if you listen to the music, you will know why.You might also know Travis from living in Los Angeles and spending his time doing street performances."I've been walking this promenade for over 30 years, and I've never seen talent like this, the way you switch your instruments back and forth and the music never stops"-Barry, a Santa Monica Promenade walker.
