Every Thursday since 2002, you’ve been able to find Hip Hop Kontoret (The Hip Hop Office) at Ideal Bar in the central Copenhagen neighbourhood of Vesterbro. The club is an institution in Copenhagen nightlife, and if you’re looking for a party on a Thursday, you’re sure to find it at Hip Hop Kontoret.
This is not in the least due to our resident dj, DJ Nut aka DJ Knud. Nut’s skills at cutting vinyl allready a long time ago secured him nationwide recognition. Nut however not only relies on his skills as Copenhagen Scratchmaster (the name of his dj team). He is also known and famous for his beatmixing skills and his fearlessness, when it comes to selection. Nut thus is not afraid to play anything, and even though the starting point is always the pure, undiluted hip hop, there are only few boundaries in Nut’s musical universe.
Every week Nut has the company of one or more of Copenhagen’s dopest dj’s at the moment as well as guests from both Europe and the US. They bring new and other beats to the table and contribute to the party. The djs of Kontoret mix classic and new tracks with one purpose: body movin’.
As part of activities, we also host the live club Brun & Blid , as well as the hip hop movie night GadeFlimmer .
