Kuku Agami has prooved himself time and time again as one of
Denmarks most talented rappers, with potent live performances and ferocious freestyles.Kuku hails from Lado, Central Africa but resides in Copenhagen Denmark where he was born in exile and is still a political refugee(stateless citizen). Due to the instability of the region and his Families political position and status. Kuku´s father holds the title of Agofe of Lado, meaning King of Lado!
Burdened by all this at a young age Kuku would soon find an escape in rap music and the hiphop movement joining the group QED, at the age of 12. Where he would make a name for himself as the groups underground succes grew.Kuku´s debut on record came when he featured on 3 songs off his older brother´s award winning album "Covert Operations". He would go on to tour with his brother for the next couple of years, performing in Denmark, Norway and USA.In between touring, he still managed to keep his name hot on the underground scene, performing and recording songs for different hiphop compilations. One of them being Drop deads "Hiphop til folket".
The song, "Dayz go by", which he recorded for that album, would catch the attention of the danish super production duo "Soulshock n Karlin" (2Pac, Mary J, Whitney Houston etc). They signed him to their Soulpower records label based in L.A.
Even though the album he recorded for Soulpower was never released, Kuku still feels he gained worthy experience recording in the states.Besides making music, kuku has used his status as a houshold name to help raise funds and awareness for the Danish Red Cross, Unicef and The Danish Aids Fund.
He has also dabbled in a bit of acting at the Royal Danish Theater acceptting a role in the play "San Diego", showcasing not only his versatility, but also a talent for acting. He has spent the last couple years touring with danish acts, The loft, danish Rnb star Ida Corr and Sweatshop hiphop/soul group of which he is one of the members.
Currently Kuku is running a montly hiphop club Brun&Blid(B.O.B) at Vega, one of Dk´s biggest and innovative music venues. He has also recently landed another acting role in “Festen†,a theatrical adaption of Thomas Vinterbergs internationally acclaimed and award winning movie. But music is his greatest passion and as we speak, he is finishing up material for his forthcomming album.ps. take care of yourselves and drop me a comment.
