*Vanessa Tammetta*

Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out my Myspace page. My name is Vanessa Tammetta and I am a violinist, arranger, composer and songwriter. I am currently studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and am in the 3rd year of my Violin performance degree. I play in classical and contemporary music styles, particularly rock, on both classical and electric violin. I have played solo and ensemble performances, including Eminence Orchestra {Melbourne, Sydney}, Sydney Ensemble and Sydney Sinfonietta {soloist at the Sydney Opera House, November 2006}. I was also awarded my LMusA diploma earlier this year. I have played gigs with bands at various local venues including The Vanguard and The Hopetoun, as well as featuring as part of the supporting act for Angus and Julia Stone’s EP Launch in July 2006. I also played with Something With Numbers on the last leg of their tour in July 2007, supported by The Inches and The Lazy’s. You can also check me out playing violin for the Australian movie Gabriel, which will have worldwide release in 2007 {dir. Shane Abbess}. I have written arrangements and done session work for artists including SonyBMG {Shannon Noll and Natalie Bassingthwaighte duet “Don’t Give Up”, Kate Miller-Heidke, Tom Jordan and Timothy Cochrane}. On the way I’ve had the opportunity to work with top producers, engineers and session musicians including Braddon Williams, Fingaz and Carl Dimataga.
