ITA Tutto inizia nel 1992 in provincia di Bergamo, quando alcuni musicisti provenienti da varie esperienze formano i Bug, quintetto bergamasco che inizia sin da subito a battere i torridi sentieri dell'hard punk.Dopo sei anni, il progetto Bug si scioglie...dell'originario quintetto restano tre elementi, ovvero Nicola Troiani (basso), Benito Brezzolari (batteria) e Stefano Locatelli(originariamente cantante, poi cantante-chitarrista)..in sostanza, il qiuntetto Bug diviene il power-trio GEA. Nel febbraio 2001 Santeria pubblica il disco d'esordio dei Gea, "Ruggine", coadiuvato dal videoclip del singolo "Ancora In Viaggio" che ha ottenuto diversi passaggi sulle più importanti reti musicali italiane. Il 2002 è anno fecondo per la band. I Gea partecipano al secondo volume della compilation “Loser, My Religion” interpretando un brano scritto per l’occasione “a quattro mani” con gli Hogwash, ovvero “Lazy Trap”. Inoltre, ad ottobre, esce il secondo album del gruppo, “Ssssh...Blam!”, che riceve ottimi responsi di pubblico e di critica, e per il quale è stato girato un secondo videoclip, ovvero “Cocktail”; anche questo video ottiene passaggi su canali Tv come Rock Tv, Viva All Music e Match Music. Il 2003 è anno di concerti intensi ma sopratutto di grandi cambiamenti; al termine dell’anno Nicola Troiani esce dalla band, e viene sostituito da Roberto Pietrobon. E’ con questa formazione che vede la luce nel ottobre 2005 "Bailamme Generale", terza prova discografica dei Gea, fuori per la nuova label Ilrenonsidiverte (distribuzione Audioglobe). Nello stesso periodo (estate 2005) Urtovox invita la band ad apparire con un pezzo inedito sulla compilation "Songs for another place", insieme alla crème dell'indie tricolore. La compila esce all'inizio del 2006, ed i Gea eseguonoil brano "A Chasing Shadow". Ottobre 2006 è anche la data nel quale il primo live dvd dei Gea viene fatto conoscere al pubblico, tramite la webzine MusicBoom.it, che mette in download gratuito 4 brani tratti da “Un Giorno di Bailamme Generale”, live dvd registrato al famoso Bloom di Mezzago nell’ anno precedente. The bboys.///////////////////// ENG Everything started in 1992 around Bergamo (north of Italy), when some guys playing in previous bands decided to form Bug, a five-piece that burned in the hot trails of hard-punk music (Radio Birdman, Celibate Rifles, mixed with Soundgarden influences). After six years and a record, “Vibe” (out June 1995, an Italian underground cult) Bug broke up, and the original five-piece line up became a power trio…c’est a dire Gea! Nicola Troiani on bass, Benny Brezzolari on drums and Stefano Locatelli on vox and guitar. February 2001 is the month of Gea’s first record, “Ruggine” (label: Santeria/Audioglobe), along with the band’s first videoclip for the track “Ancora In Viaggio”, video seen on the most important italian music televisions (TMC2, MTV, Viva etc…). In the year 2002 Gea share with Hogwash a song for the famous web compilation “Loser, My Religion”. The song, written four hands, is called “Lazy Trap”. October 2002 is the street date for the band’s second album, “Ssssh..Blam!” (Santeria/Audioglobe). The album gets a positive feedback from the musical press and from the fans in Italy. There is also a second clip shot by the band, for the track “Cocktail”, that is seen on the most important Italian musical networks (Rock TV, Match Music, Viva). 2003 is an year with many gigs, but also many changes: former bass player Nicola Troiani leaves the band. The new bass player is Roberto Pietrobon. With the new line up takes shape Gea’s third record, “Bailamme Generale”, out October 2005 for the new label Ilrenonsidiverte (distribution Audioglobe). In the same year Urtovox recs, that is arranging an international indie compilation along with Awful Bliss recs, invites us in appearing on the record with a song; the result you can hear it on “Songs For Another Place” (Urtovox/Awful Bliss/Audioglobe), with a song called “A Chasing Shadow”. In October 2006 the webzine Musicboom.it presents a gift for its users: 4 trax in free download taken from band’s very first live dvd, “Un Giorno di Bailamme Generale”, shot in October 2005 at the famous Mezzago’s Bloom during a gig.We wish only marvels in front of your eyes.
