Mr.Jingle’s first nucleus originates from a long lasting friendship and the passion for the music.
Pala,Ste and Guitto, respectively drums, bass, and guitar, absolutely must play together: they just obey their instinct and their eagerness to produce and reproduce the sounds that create themselves in their minds, stolen from who knows which period of the musical era, which now appear as rock and roll, funky, psichedelia or prog, all of which is stimulated more by the musical experience of our fathers’ generation than by the present musical trends, which they however do not lose sight of.
In april 2004, determined to broaden their sound and after several attempts to find a singer to suit their style, Marco Formenti, nicknamed Erede (=Heir), keyboard player, almost by chance knocks at their door. Though three years younger than them, the Erede immediately shows an eclectic musical experience and thanks to his joky nature easily becomes integrated in the band.
The Band had already composed a few songs of its own, when Anci joined it. Until then,no one had seriously tried to sing: the few tests had not been satisfactory.
Anci, whose real name is Andrea, immediately impressed the other components. He was anxious to sing in a band and when he heard the songs composed by the other four he felt they somewhat belonged to him, too. Moreover, unlike most singers, he was not prone to show off; on the contrary, his humbleness, enthusiasm and concentration when listening to the songs convinced the others to “enrol†him once for all in the band, which from now on could be considered as complete.
Now you will be probably asking yourselves: why the name Mr.Jingle?
The name itself does not mean much but , like in the film The Green Mile, we also had our little mouse in our first grungy rehearsal room. When we were playing, he never failed to come out of his hole and we fancied he had his fun in looking at us playing. He did not flee, so we officially named him Mr.Jingle.
Once we had found a better room, we obviously could not take him with us, but at least we inherited his name...
