The original Demeter fan film screened along with InZer0 episode 10 at the Mitten Movie Project in Royal Oak, Michigan to a sold-out audience on Tuesday 2/6/07. It was also screened in March 2007 as part of the Five Clover Films "Focus on Film" series. The sequel "Demeter: Surrender" screened to another sold-out audience on 5/1/07 with the InZer0 episode 12 finale in Royal Oak.

The first film was accepted to the 2007 Bare Bones International Film Festival (Oklahoma), and the 2007 Flint Film Festival (Michigan). The sequel was accepted to the 2007 Trinity Film Coalition Festival (Detroit), where Mike Madigan received the nomination for "Best Director". It also screened at the 2007 Great Lakes Independent Film Festival in September 2007 and the 2007 Terror Film Festival in October 2007.

Currently "Demeter: Surrender" in is consideration for additional film festivals in 2008.

Check back on this page for more screening info regarding "Demeter: Surrender", because the story of Demeter is far from over.

"Demeter" and "Demeter: Surrender" is a short film series centered around the character from the hit Detroit sci-fi series "Inzer0" from Thought Collide Productions. Set in the same post-apocolyptic world as the series, the short allows the viewer a peek into the life of Demeter - a character described on the show as tough, brilliant and completely psychotic. However, perception is everything - nothing is ever as it seems.

Demeter has quickly gained a following as the character people love to watch.. like a traffic accident... you know you shouldn't look.. but....

The short also introduces elements from Demeter's past including Nalos- her one time mentor in her former life, and Daphene - the equally brilliant woman who shares a past with Demeter. The two remind us- the line between love and hate, power and surrender is often razor thin.

Starring Rio Scafone as Demeter, Yanni Kuznia as Daphene, Jason Grasl as Nalos, Mike Petersen as Meran, and Sean Harris as Daniel.

Based on characters and setting created by Jamie Sonderman for the sci-fi series "INZER0". Both films: Executive Producer Matthew Peach, Written and Directed by Mike Madigan.
