History
You'd never believe how this all came about. Back in early 2005 I was in a metal band called Reborndeath. We agreed that we had to find a way to promote the band so we could get the attention of that typical record exec. Now at that time we never knew about myspace the only online form the band took was a dot com website. So after doing what bands do oh and that's after the booze lol. We came up with the idea of online radio promotion something also at that time we never heard about. I think i was the only person in the band that was computer illiterate. So I did some research and found Hard Rock Radio live.
We we're in the middle stages of producing our EP so we made a commercial advertising the release of our demo and gave it to a guy called Tom (owner of HRRL) He at first said we don't normally play band commercials just the music. So after explaining to him that we were working on new material he agreed to play the commercial. All went great with that.
On Hard Rock Radio Live they were advertising for DJ's to join there station. I wasn't going to sign up at first but i thought why not what the hell. The following week I was live on air blasting out some maiden.
I needed a name, a name for the show. Most of you will remember that show called "The Friday Rock Show on VH1" with "Tommy Vance" and the same show but in radio form on BBC Radio 1 from the late 1970's onwards. I took inspiration for the now dead legend Tommy Vance who is still sadly missed by all. I called the show "The Friday Rock Show" and for about 5 months continued to broadcast my own spin on the friday rock show live and on Hard Rock Radio Live.
After allot of thought and consideration I needed to reinvent myself and re brand the show. I came up with The Metal Head Show. That came about because everyone called me Metal Head instead of my real name. so the metal head show seemed to fit in with everything quite nicely. From then on it has become very popular. It's been broadcast on all platforms of radio. FM, AM and online. After taking a short break from radio afew months ago I left all the syndication behind to start over on HRRL again. The syndicated show will be returning to your media players this year (2007) so keep an ear out.
