"...To Stand The Test Of Time" OUT NOW

About Me

We are...
(Formerly Interstate 96) What is the common definition of time? The tick of a clock? The minutes, seconds, hours, years, etc? All we know is that as humans we are always testing its limits; trying to stand the test of time. For example, the great pyramids of Egypt have withstood the test of time just the same as an 80 year old war veteran. But that's getting off the point.
For The Amber Crisis
, "time" has been a span of changes and experiences that have molded the band to its current state. Let's rewind a little bit to around 2004 A.D. After various name changes, Kevin (lead vocals) and Kris (guitar) decided on the title of "Interstate 96". The band lived several years under the "Interstate 96" banner, clad with line-up alterations and comfort within the "pop-punk" genre. However, with the addition of Paul (guitar-formerly Downside up) and later Seth (drums-formerly Three Summers Stronger) and Justin (bass), the band had become something entirely new. Soon, proposed "side-projects" arose, one of which attached to the name "The Amber Crisis". They began to experiment with their diverse influences, tampering with indie-rock, post-hardcore, progressive and alternative. The need for a name change became apparent to suit the change in style and thus, The Amber Crisis was born.
Beginning their new era, The Amber Crisis brought their cards to the table with "A Far Cry From Brilliant" and continued to write songs while still playing the Interstate classics. In due time, the band had compiled an EP worth of material and by March 2007 released the home/self recorded disc, "The Past, The Future and The Inbetween". The EP speaks of topics varying from "pirates" to simple nostalgia to concept stories. The 5 gentlemen then continued playing shows and creating new arrangements of their acquired sound.
Tick, tock.
Unfortunately, in late 2007 after a long run with the band, bassist Justin and The Amber Crisis parted ways. Thus forth, this left T.A.C "bass-less". In December 2007, Kevin, Kris, Paul and Seth began recording their new CD entitled "..To Stand The Test Of Time" a fitting and favorite title of Paul's. The band was immediately comfortable within the walls of Mixtake Studios in Long Island, New York under the excellent guidance of Jim Robert. Robert understood the bands requests and put up with their shenanigans and annoyances, making the process very pleasurable. Finally by February, the CD had been mixed and mastered, complete with guest vocals from good friends Bill and Russ (of Saturday Matinee). The Amber Crisis proudly released their album March 22nd, 2008 at The Space in Hamden. The album reflects the bands past experiences, highlighting their change in style and emotion and can lyrically be considered a "concept album". "I wanted a way to express emotions while still applying to a sort of story-arc and over-all theme"- Kevin.
With good friends, memories and a "do-or die" logic, the band has played venues such as; The Space, E.C.C, Point Beach, The Webster, The Vintage Lounge (N.Y.) and many others. A 5 piece energetic mash of post-hardcore, indie-rock, alternative and progressive with the spices of a pop-punk past. With these elements at hand, The Amber Crisis is a band that wants to have fun while dishing rifts and fills.
Tick, tock. The clock is always ticking for The Amber Crisis and they are definitely ready for where the next minute will take them. So, at the end of the day, will you "stand the test of time"?.
