Africa (2006-2008)

So much for our dreams...

About Me

We are a 8 piece ska band from Milford, CT. We have a group of original songs as well as one or two cover songs. We have a T-shirt design, and if anyone would like one, message us with your size and color and well get one to you. Africa started in early summer of '06 with shaepes and lewis jamming in sasso's basement. Bert had been a lifetime friend of Sasso so one day we invited him to jam with us. We would play random songs by other ska bands and it was kinda fun. Later in that summer we were all at relay for life and we decided to try to find a few more horns to play with us and we would enter their talent show. We managed to pick up Tim and Jeremy. It just so happened they knew some songs that we knew and ended up getting second in the talent show. Our name originated that day when we asked ourselves "what should we call ourselves?" and Sasso screamed out "Africa!" and that was that. Since then we have been playing as many shows as possible trying to make a name for ourselves, Playing shows with ska/screamo/PopPunk/hardcore bands in the area. Ian joined us halfway through the winter of '06 and Jeff joined not long after that. We started writing songs and playing them at shows, adding them into our set of covers until our set finally contained more originals than covers! Woo! We happened to make a fine following for ourselves and every show we play seems better than the last. Hope you enjoy the listening!
