"I think that I must have been a medicene woman in a past life. "Which, I figure, is why I beleive that their are natural ways to heal people’s troubles. This was confirmed to me when I listned to U2’s album ACHTUNG BABY in 1991. That album was on repeat for at least a year, and it helped me cope at the time. To such an extent that in later years that experience helped me find what my purpose in this life was : to try to heal through music.Born in Paris into a jazz and brasilian influenced musical family I followed them to New York City when I was 4. I began writing song lyrics at 15 and collaborated with my mother T.M. Being attracted to other forms of art I intensely studied classical dance and later entered FAME High School of Performing Arts for Theatre studies. After receiving my degree in Journalism and International Litterature in New York, I moved back to Paris in 1997 where my family had returned to while I was in college.Although I never studied voice or music, the pull was such a magnet that I decided to search for musicians and take part in my first group, Sniffing Liberty (pop rock), with two musicians found through an ad in NOVA magazine ( a radio as well). They wrote the music and I the lyrics. It was a very instructive adventure which led us to win 2nd place in a contest in 1998, giving right to 500 pressed cds. This helped to get concerts and the interest of record labels. Unfortunately , as often happens, we had "irreconcilable differences" and we went separate ways.I then tried a whole new different musical genre and for a couple of years collaborated with DJ’s which led to guest appearances under the pseudo RIO on the album of Abstrakt Hip Hop artist 9th CLOUD & the compilation An Electronic Summer In Corsica Vol.I on Montera Music as well as a track "Viva Vida" with dj’s Michael Canitrot from Radio FG and KFK which was a selection on Itunes in June 2005.Although that was an enriching experience I also realized how much I missed Rock and its personal aspects, and decided I was ready to create my own music. So I picked up a guitar in the summer of 2005 and learned enough chords to write the base for my own songs. I then put ads on the web and after several auditions chose guitarist Belhadi "Belha" Youcef who almost instantly understood how to enrich my groundwork. It wasn’t obvious since I love to "spiral" multi music styles : alternative rock, 80’s pop, blues, brazilian folklore and electronica twisted into a harmonious BLT! Together we're in motion bringing to life my lyrics, my “band-aidsâ€, and musical themes into one... let the healing begin...
