Dupont is a two man strong electronic duo making music influenced by the tunes from the 80is as well as modern electronica.
Dupont debuted in 1999 by releasing the demo Deliver. The band consisted of Riccardo, Danucci and the vocalist Johan Damm. The demo was recorded with help from industrial heros Phrank, in their studio in Stockholm. It included the tracks Deliver and “Uber mir und uber dir†with two remixes. There are still some mp3 copies circulating the web if anybody is interested.
During 1999 we signed up with the independent label LIP Records from Stuttgart, Germany and the single Behave was released in the beginning of 2000. During the spring the single climbed the German Alternative Chart and Dupont was introduced to a bigger crowd.
The debut album Ukraina was released 2001 and by this time Dupont was recognized as the initiators of a new old school EBM wave.
The year to follow was a great year for Dupont with a lot of fun gigs. In the end of 2002 Dupont supported Covenant on their Northern Light Tour, a journey we will never forget. A lot of fun, thank to Covenant and Seabound!! BARA!!!!!!!!
Singer Johan Damm left the band during the recording of the follow up album Intermezzo. Things came to an halt and for a long time Riccardo and Danucci considered different possibilities to continue the band without Johan. The solution was for me, Riccardo, to step up to the microphone. The sound is different yes, and the result is the album Intermezzo. The gap between Ukraina and Intermezzo was four years. That’s a long time and we didn’t know what to expect. Would anybody remember us? Considering the Alternatives Charts in Germany, France and Scandinavia Intermezzo is our biggest success so far.
So what happens next. Well we don’t play much live at the moment, but there are some pictures from some of the rare shows this and last year. We mainly focus on getting the next album together. Hopefully you will see it early 2008.BTW
