Lustans Lakejer were formed in 1978 as a punk/new wave band. By 1981 they had developed their own sound which mixed influences from glam rock, art rock, electronics and disco and they released their self-titled debut album. Later that same year Lustans Lakejer made their breakthrough with the second album â€Uppdrag i Genèveâ€.
They consolidated the success with several tours, the hit single "Diamanter" and a third LP: â€En plats i solenâ€, which was produced by Richard Barbieri from the English group Japan. It was also released in English as â€A place in the sun†under the band name Vanity Fair.
Over the years Lustans Lakejer went through several line-up changes and after two more albums they disbanded in 1986. All the original albums are now available on CD as Deluxe Reissues with bonus tracks galore and individual 16-page booklets, including lyrics and liner notes by Johan Kinde. Order them from: www.hotstuff.se or buy them in well-assorted record stores.
In 1999 Lustans Lakejer came back with the widely acclaimed album â€Ã…kersberga†and a sold-out nationwide tour.
In March 2007 they will release the Best of-album â€Samlade Synder 1981-2007†which also will include the brand new single â€Allt vi en gÃ¥ng trodde pÃ¥.†You can also expect to see them live in concert throughout Sweden during the spring and summer.
