In the summer of 2006 The Paper Faces performed as a rookie band at the Hultsfred festival, two weeks later their debut single “Disco Boy” aired for the first time on Swedish national radio P3.
During that summer the recording sessions of what would become the Breakin´Up EP started.
The first gig after the summerrecordings was to open for The New York Dolls in a sold out show at Stockholms legendary concert hall Berns, an experience the boys simply describe as “marvelous”.
The Story of The Paper Faces begins in the fall of 2004 when Julian asked Andy to join his band. Their mutual interest and fascination with 60´s pop culture and 80´s New Wave bands were an instant match.
Late one friday night guitarist Martin Hentzel came to Andy´s garage (were rehearsals usually takes place) with the slimest tie and the coolest Beatle Boots they had ever seen, there was no doubt in their mind, He had to join the band.
During 2005 the band played every club worth playing in Stockholm and also made a small tour of England were they made their live-radio debut at the BBC. The host of the show complimentary described them as “not as rocky as most, but poppier than most”! (If you know your music history, you also know where you´ve heard that before ;)!
The Paper Faces soul lies in their live performances were they really get to show off all aspect of their much loved artistic abilites and showmanship. The boys therefore decided to record The Breakin'Up EP Live to capture all fresh takes of the songs. Breakin´Up EP features the singles “Disco Boy” and “Breakin´Up” and was released 1/11 2006!
In betweeen summer gigs we've been written new songs, one of them is "CLOSURE"!
