About Me

Six years from first taking up emceeing seriously, USOuljah has been through alot of chops and changes in his career. Starting off predominantly as an R&B singer in Cannons Creek, Porirua it wasn't long before the focus of lyrics in Hip Hop had him switching genres.A cornerstone member of the now defunct crew Hamofide, USOuljah went on to win the first B.R.A.G. Battle. This gained him a place in the national team for the inaugural NZ vs. AUS MC Battle for Supremacy. It was at this time he was inducted into the Major Flavours team which regularly toured the country. His stage showmanship and honest versification captured the interest of producer Ali, they formed Star City in 2004. In that same year USOuljah was also made a member of 11-piece band Solaa.USOuljah has appeared on every Major Flavours mixtape since the third edition, with the Star City song 'Keep It' of the Major Flavours 5 Bonus Disc receiving major student radio rotation. He has also added his services to the Back2Basics, Family First, Disruptiv Volume 2 and 3, Wreck Centre and Stealth 2 mixtapes. His offerings of late have been a cameo on Chong-Nee's 'Just Getting By On Love' LP and joint efforts on the Solaa debut album 'Steps In Time'. The latter producing a single release and music video for the song 'Chance' (featuring USOuljah and Hollie Smith). The track has attained various mainstream airplay; the video has been nominated in the Juice TV Music Video Awards and B-Net Music Awards this year.USOuljah is currently working closely with producers Ali and Chong Nee, focusing on his solo project. With his collaborative skills already being well recognised. It is easy to see why many anticipate what he has to offer as an individual.
