He began playing at a very young age under his father’s guidance; thanks to his teachings he managed to start studying classical guitar in 1991 with professor Fulvio Croce. His father’s example was, without any doubt, his biggest stimulus towards a continuous improvement in his playing; being born in a family where music was very important has allowed him to have an open point of view towards the music scene. In 1992 he passed the exam required to attend the 3rd year of the “G.F.Ghedini” conservatory, in Cuneo. He stayed there until 1996, studying with the teacher and headmaster Paolo Manzo. From 1992 to 1997 he worked with various local bands and coverbands, aquiring experience and confidence on the stage. In 1998 he found the right musicians to form what he had been planning for a long time, and so the band Mexico Shuffle was born, a trio based on the repertoire of great artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix. Here Enrico showed all of his skill as a singer/guitarist by faithfully recreating that fiery sound. The band headlined various concerts for important bluesmen like Michael Hill, Marcia Ball, Kinsey Report, Treves Band, and many others. They succesfully played important Chicago clubs like: Rosa’s Blues House, Koko Taylor, Buddy Guy’s Legend, Cubby Bear, Rooster’s Blues. From 1998 to 2004 he met the musician Roby Bella, member of the popular piedmontese folk band “Tre Lilu”, and a sincere friendship was born; toghether they started the “Jackpotband”. The new band played in some of the best clubs on the Côte D’Azur and in various french ski resorts. Their dynamic style, combined with a growing sense of showmanship, made for interesting concerts in which the audience participated actively. In early november 2000 Enrico received a positive review by the magazine “Chitarre”, catching the critics’s attention because of his Hendrixian style.Since 2001 he has taught guitar at the Istituto Civico Musicale, a music school, in Boves. In 2003 he took part in the “15th International Meeting of 2CV” and recorded the cd “Sailing On The Road” (the event’s official soundtrack), he headlined Rudy Rotta’s concert. He also took part in the “9th Annual Stevie Ray Vaughan Rememberance Ride & Concert” at Fort Worth Tx, and he played with numerous bluesmen like Joe Richardson, Alan Haynes, Andrea Dawson.Since 2004 he is the lead guitarist for the ventennial piedmontese folk-rock band “Lou Dalfin”, who has won the Tenco award with it’s cd “L’oste Del Diau” as the best record in dialect. They played the best international, European and Italian folk festivals like: “Rodez Estivada”, “La Notte Della Taranta”, “Nuits Atypique”, “L’aze D’Alegre” , and many others. They also headlined Lou Reed’s concert in Turin’s “Medals Plaza”.By the end of 2004 Enrico moved to Texas for a short tour, in which he played some of the most famous clubs in the Dallas and Austin scene like: 311, Friends, KCII, Antone’s, The Bone. He met Tommy Shannon, former Stevie Ray Vaughan bassist, and Chris Duarte, a famous guitarist from Austin. In 2006/07 he started working on a solo project with his band, Mexico Shuffle, and he helped artist Zucchero Fornaciari promote his new record “Fly” on various television programs like: “Miss Italia”, “Fratelli di Test”, “Telethon” live from Rai 1, “Che Tempo Che Fa” live from Rai 3, and “Telegatti” live from Canale 5.Since 2007, he has taught guitar at the Istituto Civico Musicale, a school run by the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale (APM Institute), in Saluzzo, he has also produced his first record “I Virasolelhs” with the Lou Dalfin band.
