• A’biku a handsome, but taken bedroom beat maker from a small town called Pietermaritzburg, Kwazulu-Natal (South Africa). He began making beats in 2003 when a friend Tumo (El Jay) burnt him a copy of Fruity Loops and ever since than, the rest is history. Introduced to a variety of hip-hop by a high schoolmate Stylez (Siyanda Khoza), whose one of Pietermaritzburg illest mc’s.A’biku's interests grew towards soulful hip-hop after meeting Narc Hacklan (Siphiwe Radebe from Jo’burg) in 2001 in Durban. He was exposed to underground hip-hop. It was inevitable for A’biku to express himself on the invisible mics (cyphers) when surrounded by Narc and Exo, but his real talent was yet to be discovered.Practicing one of hip-hop rituals mc battling in 2002, on a community hip-hop radio show hosted by Endz(South Africa’s best female m.c.) his confidence evolved and was then united with Influence (S’fiso Dlamini) & Sense (Sandile Makhaye) to form a group called Soundbreathers. With minor setbacks, that the group experienced, they were unable to produce a full length LP. A’biku decided to work on a mixtape called Urban Psalms (2005) which featured Pietermaritzburg mc’s.
