About Me

I'm Endz, some say 'Otherness'. Emcee since 2000, DJ since 1998. Born and raised in the gutters - D'urban city, South Africa, early 80's. Been living in Cape Town since 2003. My debut album 'Kingdom Of The Next' dropped in December 2006. I am currently working on a project with renowned emcee Ben Sharpa aka Critical Mass. Our crew 'Testrogen' is an embodiment of the male and female hip hop elements, working together to create the fundamental balance required in the eminence of the artform. As a solo artist, I've blessed with an opportunity to grace stages with the likes of world number two DJ-Reddy D, Dead Prez, The Roots, Jill Scott, Jean Grae, Alice Smith, Amy Winehouse, Loop Troop & Jonzi D among others. I've played and/or performed at annual festivals like Flux, The Durban Beach Festival, Fire On The Mountain, Imbumba, Baobab Youth Event and most recenlty Hip Hop Connected.KINGDOM OF THE NEXT (ENDZ THE OTHERNESS' DEBUT ALBUM)I've worked with different producers in my Kingdom Of The Next album including Arscenic (The Maniac Metalloid/ Writers Block), Abiku (Soundbreathers), Sufidun (Heistgrade Media), Mangaliso Ngonyoza (HeadRok), Rob Banka(BirthMarx), Mafiana (First Case Alliance), & Shane (africasgateway.com); Dj & Producer Big Dre is on the cuts on some tracks. Featured emcees include Garlic Brown a & Bradlox (League Of Shadows), Konfab & Vernon Visqus (Writers Block),Korianda (Fifth Floor) and Eavesdrop. I've also been able to make some contribution as an activist in my community. MEDIA COVERAGE: Since my album’s release, certain media has shown some interest in my music. I have received a considerable amount of airplay in several radio stations and my TV interviews include a special interview with SABC 1’s youth programme “Street Journal”, Etv’s entertainment programme “The Showbiz Report” and DSTV’s MK 89 programme called “Sisters”. I was recently interviewed by the newspaper Mail & Guardian, who published a page 3 article on me in their entertainment edition called Friday.A few of my songs have also been featured in different compilations including Durban’s Zulu Hip Hop compilation “Isinamuva Liyabukwa”, and my song “The Mystics Among Us” features on the Maniac Metalloid compilation, 2006. My song “Kingdom Of The Next” will be on the May/ June issue of Hype magazine. In 2002, I joined forces with artists like Tsepo Gule and Mfanelo Mchunu & founded Azaniart Movement 4 Innovation (AMI); a non-profit organisation which combined performance and performing arts. AMI consisted of over 27 young people between the ages of 6 to 31. It was an initiative aimed at keeping young people off the streets and allowing them an opportunity to use their time productively by exhibiting their art skills.ULTERTHOUGHT CREATIONZ: I'm also momentarily developing an infant project aimed at uniting Afrika's hip hop society. Appropriately named UlterThought, this project is an extension of the kingdom of the next project, we have done gigs like the release of KOTN @ Zula, Cape Town, D'Urban Poison - KOTN launch in Durban & most recently Child Protection Week project 'COSMIC WARS' @ Armchair Theatre in Cape Town.
