Since 1925 Julius Keilwerth has produced saxophones the traditional way, with an emphasis on quality which remains unchanged today. 80 years of experience and expertise have made Keilwerth one of the leading saxophone makers world wide, a position they uphold with constant quality improvements, the most modern production techniques, and the unparalleled commitment of their employees.The company Julius Keilwerth established started as a small woodwind shop and progressed within 10 years into one of Europe's best known makers of saxophones. After World War II, Keilwerth moved manufacturing to Nauheim, near Frankfurt. The company was managed by founder Julius Keilwerth, and then by his son Josef, until 1962.Since 1970 Keilwerth has concentrated its efforts on the production of saxophones that allow musicians to shape their own sound and style. Highly skilled craftsmen build a complete line of saxophones, ranging from soprano all the way down to bass saxophone, including special models made from nickel silver (SX90R nickel silver and SX90R "Shadow",) so that Keilwerth is able to offer the right instrument for any musical style.
From 1989 until 2003, Keilwerth was part of the Boosey & Hawkes Group. In February 2003 Keilwerth became part of The Music Group.The continuous exchange of ideas between Keilwerth and and the world's top musicians has always contributed to the quality of the instruments.
