Critical Rhythm Label Management Ltd was set up in 2003 and is owned by Keith McDonnell (also owner & manager of Baroque Records). As a label management company Critical Rhythm work very closely with their labels to achieve a greater profile and in turn increased sales & licensing opportunities.
Exclusively managing a very select group of quality labels, of varying genres, from around the world, Critical Rhythm is already very proud to represent such established & respected labels as Aurium Recordings, Boz Boz Recordings, Conspiracy Recordings, Electrofly Records and of course Baroque & Method Records, in addition to assisting in the development of up and coming labels such as Floppy Discs and Ruhnsong Recordings.
As a label management company, their commitment to manufacture, promote and distribute the label and then account back to the label on a quarterly basis means the not only take on the administrative and accounting work load, but also take on the financial responsibility for all the listed upfront costs, which for a small label trying to establish itself can be a very welcome relief.
Unlike other label management companies Critical Rhythm have distribution deals in place with more than one distributor, which means that they can place each label with the distributor that best suits there style and output, ensuring each distributor gives their full support to each individual label.
Some of the distributors Critical Rhythm work closely with include Intergroove, Blanco Y Negro, & Amato, all of which are highly respected & successful companies & have agreements in place with all the major chains such as HMV & Virgin, plus Critical Rhythm also offers digital distribution agreements with all the key players including Beatport, 3Beat Digital, Audio Jelly and many, many more.
With Keith McDonnell having owned and run Baroque Records since it's inception in 2000, each label that Critical Rhythm work with can benefit from the in house experience & knowledge gained through his years of running Baroque, which is now seen by many as one of the world's finest dance imprints, and also expect the same high quality of service. This is highlighted by the company's strong relationships with the various dance press, DJs, stores and outlets, and production companies worldwide.
With the sales on Baroque & Method through the years and the addition and development of even more quality labels through Critical Rhythm since it's inception, the company has been able to negotiate some very attractive manufacturing prices, and would even go so far as to say these are probably some of the best around, which they are pleased to be able to offer to the associated labels on their roster.
