Adrian Mitchell

About Me

Inspired by the timeless sounds of classic singer/songwriters like Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, and Jim Croche, and mesmerized by the electrifying dance moves of performers such as Michael Jackson and James Brown, Adrian Mitchell was introduced to an overwhelmingly diverse collection of music at an early age. His mother's love for an endless variety of artists, bands, and composers eventually taught Adrian to carry an acceptance and appreciation for all types of music, helping him to blend his many influences into a unique sound. Adrian Mitchell's singing debut took place within the small town of Prescott, Arizona at a middle school talent show around age 11. From the first few moments that Adrian began to belt out R. Kelly's hit song "I Believe I Can Fly" he realized what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Soon after, Adrian joined the school choir, and appeared in various school productions including the musicals "Guys and Dolls" and "The Music Man" where he played the lovable Winthrop. In the summer of 1999, Adrian Mitchell's two older brothers entered a national talent search called the "Country Showdown". Before his brothers recorded their audition demo tape, they decided to add 13 year old Adrian to the group for his growing vocal and dancing abilities. The trio of brothers went on to win the contest at both the local and state levels for two years in a row. Adrian and his brothers, Chris and Phoenix Mendoza, later known as the country band Three of a Kind, traveled throughout the Southwest performing for various venues and events. During the next five years, Three of a Kind opened for many established country acts, including Charlie Daniels, Montgomery Gentry, and Chely Wright, and performed for an array of charitable events before they decided to part ways. Adrian's brothers headed off to Nashville Tennessee, while he moved to Los Angeles California to develop his vocal and songwriting skills. There, he received vocal instruction from the prestigious teacher Liz Wooten, who eventually gave him the confidence to head out to Nashville. Adrian Mitchell is a true performer, who devotes himself solely to his audience. Off stage, he is a passionate songwriter who strongly believes that honesty is a song's most important ingredient. Adrian's love for all types of music has helped him to understand that the quality of a song is far more important than what genre it derives from.
