About Me

MAURICIA’S BIOGRAPHYMauricia Pascal, born in the Spice Island of Grenada, born on July 29th,1985 is a natural performer of alternative soca music. With her father from Antigua and her mother from Grenada, Mauricia proudly says, she has the best of both worlds. At the young age of six, Mauricia migrated to the United States where she started singing in the School and Church Choir. Mauricia also began writing poetry at the age of 13. She eventually began turning these poems into songs. When Ms. Pascal turned 16, she graduated from Barbizon Modeling School and joined the Sesame Flyers International Youth Council. Mauricia started playing Double Seconds and Double Tenor Pans with the Sesame Flyers Steel Orchestra and was later elected as the Youth Council Coordinator in 2004. Mauricia first realized in 2004 that her talent in singing was something that she wanted to pursue. While performing at the SFI Beacon Talent Shows, she used the opportunity to develop her skills in dance, playing pan and singing even further while continuing to perform at local events in New York. Self motivated, Mauricia decided to pursue a professional career in singing on her own, and with the help of her close friends and family, she succeeded in putting herself in the limelight of soca music. Her inspirations come from pop artist such as Avril Levigne and the late legendary soca artist Onika Bostic. Mauricia’s style is exclusive with a blend of excitement and sexiness. Ms. Pascal's first releases are entitled "Aggressive", "Move It", and "Under The Skin".
