About Me

Born N. Le Guerre P/K/A “Haph” (half) is a highly gifted and rarely talented rapper, musician, writer, producer, and studio engineer who was born and raised in crown heights Brooklyn, N.Y.C to parents of the West Indies island of Trinidad & Tobago. Having being brought up in a multi-cultural, urban city neighborhood where sex, drugs, and violence was predominant and as common as an octagon shaped stop sign, at an early age “Haph” sought his passion in what was know to some as noise.
At the tender age of 10 yrs old “Haph” recalls pulling the power plug on the turntable’s at his 10th birthday party until he was allowed to exhibit his skills on the 1’s & 2’s. After weeks of practice, a few whippings and a few broken needles on his mother’s old phonograph turntable, he decided to make it all worth it. By the time he was 15 yrs old “Haph” had found it a full time hobby and a part time job DJ’ing at local neighborhood houses & basement parties.
In the mid ninety’s he got together with (2) two other homies from the area, “J- Runnah & Wais”. Collectively they made up the rap group “THE RANJAHZ”, whom had set out on an odyssey to accomplish a few common goals. As official members of “Team Roc” (Jay-z, Big Jaz, Sauce Money, “THE RANJAHZ”, and Memphis Bleek), in 1998 the group landed a guest appearance on Jay-z’s Hard Knock life. Vol-2 track titled: “If I should die”. In 1999 “Haph” went on to showcase his production talent on Memphis Bleek’s debut album “Coming of age” track titled: N.O.W. In 2000 the group had inked a deal with “Carter Faculty/DEF JAM” records, which due to poor administration later collapsed. Since then “Haph” have went on to spit verses over some of the finest producer’s tracks in the game, such as: DJ PERMIER, BIG JAZ, DJ SCRATCH, D-DOT, PETE ROCK, EASY MO BEE, JUS BLAZE, AND SWIZZ BEATS. Over the years he has managed to collaborate both in lyrics and in production with RAS KASS, JA RULE, RAEKWON (of the Wu Tang Clan), PETEY PABLO, and CEE-LO (of Gnarls Barkley) to name a few. In 2005 “Haph” had a shot at acting; he appeared as a DJ in a NYC channel 2 (CBS) television commercial advertisement for VAN HALEN’S (David Lee Roth’s) 92.3 K Rock radio show.
In 2006 “THE RANJAHZ” joint forces with DERIC D-DOT ANGELETTE, who’s responsible for hit records such as: NOTORIOUS B.I.G’s Hypnotize and P-diddys The Benjamin’s. With his relentless approach, to not only turn a page in Hip Hop’s history, but to write a page of his own, “Haph” has currently set out to pursue a solo career. With children expenses, bills to be paid and slow progression, feeling like he has nothing to loose and everything to gain at this point in life, he is grabbing the bull by the horns.
Having being a rapper with a distinctive voice and distinguished flows, a self taught guitarist, writer, producer, arranger and studio engineer, with his own recording facility, “Haph” has taken control of his own destiny. Between all the industry politics, music being his primary focus, indulging in the N.Y.C streets and all its vices, he has fought to keep his spiritual, mental, and physical balance. In his solo project “Haph” exhibits passion, style, charisma, and a natural personality that can not be bought. After having been virtually forced to master his craft due to a politically driven music business, not only did “Haph” develop into an all around ARTIST but, his experience has made him an excellent instrument in ARTIST development.
Heavily influenced and deeply inspired by every kind of music from Blues to Pop, Hip Hop to Rock, “Haph” has prepared himself to step out of the box on his solo project. In it he expresses what his present relationship is like with “THE RANJAHZ”. He goes where some other’s tough guy persona forbids, by touching on his sensitive side on a track titled: “Make Me Feel”. With compelling hooks, heavy subject matter, vigorous lyrical content and extremely tight self production (www.myspace.com/haphgotbeats2), failure is not in the forecast for this Brooklyn native.
Coming from the bottom where “Haph” encountered and barely escaped with some physical but, more mental scars than anything else from the day to day homicides, shootouts, a life of robbery and drugs. Baring witness to seeing many followers life’s cut short; “Haph” has always had a leader’s spirit. Always set out to make a difference in everything he does, one of his ULTIMATE GOALS is a Non Profit Organization that caters to the needs of our young inner city, unfortunate, undiscovered musicians of tomorrow.
