About Me

The Main group is the 19th Connecticut Militia formed in 1774. Nathan Hale was a Captain in the 19th before volunteering for the Rangers. We wear the uniform of the Colony of Connecticut as we were formed when it was a British colony. We play 18th century music exactly as it was played back then. We also have a Ranger unit called "Knowlton's Rangers" who portray Rangers that were under the personal direction of George Washington in 1776. Nathan Hale was a member of this group when he took on his spying mission to New York. In addition to the Rangers we have are own artillery called the "Stephen Buckland Artillery" which portraying an authentic artillery unit during the American Revolutionary war.

My Interests

Music, History, Founding fathers, Black Powder, and Flintlocks.

I'd like to meet:

Young people interested in History. Do you play the fife or drum? Would you like to learn? If your 18 and older you also could be a Ranger or on a gun crew. Want to feel the kick of a Brown Bess or Charleville Musket? Maybe your interested in someting even louder? Joining is easy, we provide uniforms, muskets, and cannons. If your not sure but would like to see what it would be like contact us and we can talk. We have a large muster at the Nathan Hale homestead every summer. Did you like the movie "The Patriot"? Does doing something like that sound fun to you?
